What we're asking you to do
The short answer: nothing yet except your scrutiny. This page explains what that means, what we might ask for later, and how you would know.
Right now
- There is no vote, ballot, petition or hearing. Nothing here asks for your signature or your money.
- We publish every proposal, including the ones we killed, and the numbers behind them. We ask you to read them and tell us what looks wrong.
- The "board decisions" on the home page are computer simulations of different points of view. They are not votes by people.
Who would decide a real project
This is an independent project. It is not a government body and cannot approve, fund or build anything. A real project on the ground would need, at a minimum, the landowner to agree and the agencies that issue water permits to sign off. If public money were involved, the public body spending it would decide in an open meeting.
What we might ask for later
When a first pilot site is chosen, we expect to ask nearby residents to comment on it at a public meeting held by whichever body would decide it. No pilot site has been chosen, so no such meeting exists yet.
What it would cost you
No cost to households or taxpayers has been proposed. If one ever is, we will show the amount per household on the home page before any meeting about it.
How you would know
Any date, decision or cost will appear first in the "What we're asking you to do" box on the home page. If that box says "nothing scheduled", nothing is scheduled.
